Shasta County fire officials are warning the community that all fireworks are illegal in the county. According to the Anderson Police Department, no fireworks of any kind are allowed, including sparklers. The Redding Fire Department's Fire Prevention Specialist Sarah Roth stated that even one spark can lead to a dangerous situation. The 4th of July is approaching soon, and while 'Safe and Sane' fireworks may be used in other counties, they are illegal in Shasta County.
Instead, residents can enjoy legal fireworks displays at events like the Freedom Festival in Redding.
