A fire briefly prompted evacuation warnings for many residents living near Weaverville in Trinity County on Monday morning. The fire, named the Spring fire, began near the 1500 block of Democrate Gulch Road shortly after 10 a.m., according to the Watch Duty App. It burned a total of two acres before its forward spread was stopped, the Weaverville Fire Department said. Multiple resources responded to the fire, including Cal Fire and the Weaverville Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
