Construction on the $8 million improvement project began on June 29 as part of a collaboration between the Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency, California Department of Water Resources, and California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The upgrades include a new two-lane concrete boat ramp, improved gravel ramp for nontrailered boats, a 25-unit primitive campground, day-use picnic area, new recreational trails, paved parking with trailer spaces and single-vehicle spaces.
