Shasta County Office of Education (SCOE) student board members Jacob Garcia and Deasle Delello are launching a countywide student advisory board. The council will include one student from every high school in the county, including public, private, and charter schools, who will be elected by their student bodies. The group's primary goal is to work on a single project each year, addressing common issues faced by high schools across the county.

Garcia hopes to improve online safety education and student disengagement, while Delello wants to promote civic engagement and opportunities for rural students.
